Half a year has passed? So hard to believe! At her doctor appointment this morning, she was still in the 75th percentile for weight at 16 lbs. 12 oz., but had crept "off the charts" (over 95th percentile) for height at 28 1/4 inches long. I always like these statistical reminders because they justify my whining about carrying her in her 10 lb. car seat up and down the stairs every day :) Her cheeks are also off the charts, and her hair is at zero.
She's started pushing up more on her arms, which looks like stage one of wanting to crawl. She can't quite get her knees under her, but she can sort of turn in circles on her stomach and scoot around a bit. It looks like hard work. She's still busy, grabbing for everything, wanting to hold her bottle herself, and generally trying to escape being pinned down anywhere.
She's developed a funny nose scrunch/sniffle face that Mike informed me this morning he can prompt her to do on command. I tried it out on tape this afternoon, and he's right (see video)! I think her dad is better at inspiring her to do it, but it worked pretty well for me. Please try and ignore my obnoxious voice and sniffing in the background. It practically cancels out the sound of her sniffing, which is so cute in person. She does this more than she does anything else these days. Maybe we smell.
