NO. SWEAT.

We are so proud of Frances on her first day of ski school!!!

We had spoken to enough parents to know to expect a rough first day - some tears at drop-off and pick-up, complaints about wearing all that gear, and - at a minimum - a kind of fall-on-the-floor exhaustion unique to being in and out of the cold, on and off of skis, for 6 hours straight.

Not so for our girl! Frances wasn't sensitive about being dropped off for this totally new experience with new teachers and many new friends, didn't complain about her gear, reported having had a great time, and wasn't any more tired than usual when Mike picked her up at 3:00. In fact, she accompanied Mike to the market after her day of skiing, where she stood on a milk crate in the kitchen and "helped" Josh make a cake. Back at home, she was her usual self, not showing any sign of being even remotely tired until about 7:15. Did I mention she woke up at 5:30 this morning and read books in her room for 30 minutes before our designated 6:00 ok-fine-we'll-get-up-now threshold?

So for anyone who doesn't believe me when I say that this kid seriously just never slows down, BELIEVE IT. She's a wonder!

Here she is, riding the "magic carpet" up, and skiing down:
