Thanksgiving overshadowed what would normally have been a post about Frances' 8th month. Considering the blog is turning out to be the most complete record of events in her first year, I want to be sure I write a bit about her latest developments.
She's still going strong with the "dada"s, and has started in just the past couple of weeks to add "mama" to the mix more consistently. She's up on her hands and knees more often, and starting to pull up on things a bit, but still seems to have little interest in moving her legs back and forth in a traditional crawl. (Who needs to crawl when you can scoot and roll anywhere you need to go?) :) She's a living lint roller, just picking up every last hair and piece of dust on our floors.

Still no teeth.
A little more hair.
A little more hair.
She's always very happy to see the fish on the beautiful mobile that friends Michael and Cynthia gave us when she was born. She didn't notice them until a month or two ago, but now that she has, they get lots of waves "hi," and big smiles and laughs when Mike blows on them to make them "swim." We always say the word "fish" when we look at them with her, and then sometime last week while watching the mobile, she started making the "f" sound as if she was trying to say "fish." But then it became clear that she was actually blowing on the fish just like her daddy does. Its quite possibly the cutest thing she's ever done. We also have a book that features a picture of a fish, and when we get to that page, she blows at the fish. Her little cheeks puff out sometimes and everything. We've responded so enthusiastically to the blowing that she's been doing it quite a bit more in the last few days, whether or not we are in the presence of the fish :)
We'll try and get some video of her latest and greatest soon.
